About The Project
About the Project
Sacramento County Airport System has begun construction on a Terminal Modernization Program at Sacramento International Airport. The program is designed to meet future air travel demand by replacing the outdated 216,000 square foot/13 gate Terminal B. During planning for the project, multiple designs were created. Through an evaluation process, the Central Terminal B concept was identified as the clear choice for future development. This concept will meet the travel needs of Sacramento's growing population and maintain Sacramento International Airport's ease-of-use and convenience.
The new facilities will feature:
- Landside Terminal Building with Integrated Hotel
- Airside Concourse
- Automated People Mover (APM)
- Two-level Structured Roadway
- Cross-field Taxiway and Apron Paving
- New Terminal B Parking Garage with Pedestrian Bridge Connection
Notable aspects of this gateway to the Sacramento region include:
- Intuitive / Efficient Plan
- Interconnected Levels for Easy Way-finding
- Design for Expansion to Accommodate Future Growth
- Minimal Construction Phasing
- Maintains Easy Come / Easy Go Process
